Liturgy & Prayer

Book of Common Prayer

Worship at Christ Church follows the Book of Common Prayer 2019.

If you would like a copy of the Prayer Book for personal use, it can be ordered directly from the publisher.

The complete text is also available online. (After clicking the link, scroll down. The first two pages of the document are blank.)

Meditation and Worship

Members of Christ Church gather for Morning Prayer every weekday at 7:30 am. All are welcome!

You can also participate in the rhythms of daily prayer wherever you are using a copy of the Book of Common Prayer 2019, the BCP 2019 Daily Office app, or the Daily Office Podcast.

Confession

Scripture says that God has given his people the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:17). As part of that ministry, the priests of Christ Church are available to hear confessions at any time.

A Guide to Preparing for Confession is available online. If you would like to set up a time for confession, or if you have questions and would like to discuss what is involved, email admin@christchurchwaco.org or contact any of our priests directly to set up a time.

Healing Prayer

Saint James asks, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14). Our priests gladly offer anointing and prayer for any sickness of body or mind. Just ask!

If you or someone you love is in the hospital, preparing for or recovering from surgery, or homebound due to illness, please reach out to a priest or let the church office know at
admin@christchurchwaco.org. We can visit to offer anointing and prayer. We can also bring previously consecrated Holy Communion to those who are prevented from attending the Eucharist liturgy.

Funeral Planning

Christ Church has produced a helpful Funeral Planning Form that will assist you (and later your family) in making plans for your death and burial. Preparing to make a holy death is an ancient and valuable Christian practice. As we pray on Sundays in Lent, “From dying suddenly and unprepared, good Lord, deliver us!”
